LGBT Group Files Suit To Block Funds To Anti-Gay College
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/04/042506kySuit.htm

A lawsuit was filed Tuesday seeking to prevent Gov. Ernie Fletcher from giving $11-million in public money to the University of the Cumberlands which expelled a student for being gay.

The Kentucky Fairness Alliance filed the suit in Franklin Circuit Court. Court papers say the grant is an "unconstitutional appropriation and use of public funds a sectarian and denominational school that treats Kentucky citizens unequally."

Monday night Fletcher used his line item veto to chop $370 million from the state budget but let the funding to Cumberlands stand. (story)

The money is to be used for a proposed pharmacy school at the Baptist college.
