From reading the article, they make it sound like he is being punished because he appeared on a gay porn site, emphasis on the gay part. However, they said he didn't commit any homosexual acts, soooo? I'm just not able to add it all up, I guess.

From all the reports leading up to this, they made it sound like these guys were engaged in homosexual acts, which was why it was such a "bad thing" for the military. Yet this guy didn't engage in any homosexual act, he just appeared on a porn website.

If he were doing a spread for a straight porn website, would they not have punished him? I just don't get it.

21. Well keep in mind, he didn't "just" appear on a porn website.....

And while I'm not in the least bit defending the government.....he was videotaped for a porno and his scene was most certainly on a tape that included guys doing more than just playing with themselves.

This particular web-site's (Active Duty) porn tapes are very hard core (so to speak).

But I absolutely agree with your last line.....if this had been a straight porno, would he be in this much trouble? I doubt it.

Like I said, I had assumed I understood all of the facts of the case, before this article at least. Of course I didn't agree with it, but if they had broken military rules, then it's something they would have to deal with.

However this article says they this guy in particular did not engage in any homosexual activities. So why is he getting in trouble? Simply because he was doing porn? And why is he having to serve jail time?

If are in the military and get into trouble doing any sort of porn, ok, fine.

If he was convicted in some sort of military court (whose rules I wouldn't understand anyway), ok, fine.

But if he was convicted in a normal court, why would he serve time (unless it's all for marijuana possession)? And if he didn't commit any homosexual acts, why was he punished so severely by the military, unless it has rules against participating in any sort of porn?

Can any military people weigh in? Do they have rules against appearing in any sort of porn, or are they just extending this out so far that they think they can get away with this dismissal via the "don't ask, don't tell" policy?
