More Arrests In Beatings Of Gay Tourists

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a vicious attack on two gay New Yorkers vacationing in the Dutch Caribbean resort of St. Maarten.

St Maarten Chief Prosecutor Taco Stein said that a man and woman have been arrested on the French side of the island. That brings to four the number of suspects facing charges in the attack last month on Richard Jefferson (pictured) and his friend Ryan Smith.

Stein said more arrests are expected. The most recent arrests came after Dutch and French authorities agreed to work together on the case. (story)
