Mom Guilty In 'Gay Kidnap' Case

A woman who kidnapped her 11-year old son and fled the country because she believed her former husband was turning the boy gay has been found guilty of custodial interference.

The jury deliberated just over an hour to find that Caren MacDonald had violated a court order that awarded custody of the boy to her former husband and that she stay away from her son.

MacDonald will be sentenced next month. She faces up to six years in prison.

MacDonald never denied taking the boy and fleeing. Her attorney argued she was justified because of her concerns that her ex-husband, who came out shortly before they separated, was influencing the boy's sexuality.
