A Muslim Saudi professor says the earthquake and tsunami in south Asia were punishment from Allah for homosexuality and fornication committed by residents and visitors of affected countries at Christmastime.

I knew this was coming, but I assumed it would be from Falwell and the gang first.

And of course World Nut Daily is happy to report this as a major news story :eyes:

1. WHEW! I thought this was another DU post that Fox would republish
ha ha hahhahhahahah (maniacal laughter)

Gives the phrase, "Did the earth move for you too?" entirely new meaning.

4. I thought the same, Falwell or Robertson
Only I figured it would be God punishing these people because they are Muslim.
There are radical/fanatical people in all religions and nationalities.

5. Why, of COURSE it's the cause.
What else would make water do that? Every time same-sex relations are undertaken, a village in Asia is wiped off the face of the planet.

6. the idiots at godhatesfags.com beat the good professor to the punch.
They said it was because the Swedes treat homosexuals as equals was the cause of the tsunami. There were approx. 5,000 Swedes killed.

Why God didn't send the tsunami to Sweden is beyond me.

7. Anyone see the daily show last night
when they made fun of the women from "The View". They were saying "Praise God" that none of them were there. Jon had a field day with that one.

Anyway, I for one want NOTHING to do with a god that kills all those people. I don't care if every single one of them was a murderer. The last think I need to do is sit around next to some jackass on a power trip for the rest of eternity.

14. Well, if you try to follow Phelps you'll be outraged almost daily
He outdoes himself with every passing day. For example he has now gathered enough signatures on a petition to force repeal or public vote of the watered down Topeka anti-discrimination law which includes sexual orientation.

The difference with Robertson, Falwell and that bunch is that they have a following of millions. He thankfully doesn't.

11. If this tectonic plate is a rockin', don't come a knockin' !!!
Fred Phelps has been saying the same thing about the quake.

RAW STORY has discovered that the Westboro Baptist Church leaders known for picketing the funeral of Matthew Shepard, the young college student brutally murdered in Wyoming in 1998, have released the following statement regarding the tsunamis which hit Southeast Asia earlier in the week.

The statement, which was posted on their website Wednesday alongside dozens of other archived "press releases," thanks God for the tsunami and for the death of any gay Swedish vacationers who perished at the time.

15. Not to be outdone by the Saudi professor, BSnbc's Scarbrough..
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 11:58 AM by justin899
had a guest which went even further.

"Jennifer Giroux, director, Women Influencing the Nation:

Throughout history and reported early in the Bible, God has always used plagues, floods and natural disasters as a source of punishment.

One can talk about a sad lost generation over there in the disaster going on in Asia. We have a lost generation of 40 million aborted babies in this country that is being ignored by so many people. I believe that this situation that happens makes all of us look inward, realize God is ultimately in control of life and death.

Look at what we're looking with just in this country with cloning, homosexuality, trying to make homosexual marriages, abortion, lack of God in the schools, taking Jesus out of Christmas. I can't pretend to know the mind of God. But, historically, there have been warnings. And God, who is all-loving and all-good, and he will not be mocked."

It's almost as these people are happy to see this type of destruction. It's absolutely disgusting.

17. Fundamentalist Muslims and fundamentalist Christians are so similar.
They hate all the same things: gays, jews, anyone not like them. Hmmm why don't they get along with each other? Oh yeah, they hate each other too, but still, with so many hatreds in common, can't they get past that minor sticking point?

organized hatred under a veil of organized peace.

It's not a Xian thing.

It's not a Muslim thing.

It's a hate thing.

BTW: I did get a death threat from a Muslim once. Shocked, but not surprised. He's otherwise a great man, a family man, but I knew he was deeply involved in his religion. If I notice a person is big into their religion, it doesn't matter which, I tread carefully. (We all should. We're more worthy of life than they are.)
