I would hope that this would be something that you would only find at FR, but the way you asked the question makes me think that you saw it here at DU. And I'm sad to say that reading something like that outside of the GLBT forum wouldn't surprise me too much. I've seen lots of cases of transphobia here at DU, why not homophobia too?

...that have been said over the years against queers right here on DU I would say DU. And it isn't just in GD either. I remember a few years ago bigoted posts showing up in the lounge. And we have also had to face it right here in our own forum.

Now not everyone on DU is like this, but there are some, and they know who they are.

That's why I came here. It's funny, gay DUers never seem to pick fights, with me at least. There are just some people I can't stomach and they attack certain subjects like vultures. I can't support my candidate in the primary before someone starts flaming me like an irrational freak. I hesitate to put people on ignore but I think I might start.

I wish there was a GAY DU.

Maybe we should have a gay GROUP where we can discuss anything and everything, but we know the posts won't be homophobic/transphobic.

17. Funny thing...

The same day you posted this, I told someone to "shove (it) up their ass". It was regarding the idea that "it's silly to say there are people here in the US who itch to pass a law making it legal to kill gays" (paraphrase).

I linked to a couple articles about gays getting beaten/killed in the post, but I didn't mention MA.

For a while there, I thought you were talking about me, because I'm well known for being.... hostile.... about certain subjects- dismissiveness toward attacks on gays being one of them.

I hope I pissed that person off. I hope I ruined their day. They deserved it, completely.

But then, I don't exactly have a 'following' here. If I do.... I'm in hell. :evilgrin:
