IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED TO STOP THE CONFIRMATION OF
PRO-HOMOSEXUAL STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION MEMBER!!

CONFIRMATION VOTE TO BE HELD WEDNESDAY, JAN. 12th
BY SENATE RULES COMMITTEE!!

Immediate Calls to Committee Members Needed!!

*************************************************************************
Friends of Traditional Values:

We have been informed that tomorrow, Wednesday, January 12th, a vote to reconfirm current California State Board of Education member Reed Hastings will take place by the Senate Rules Committee.

Immediate phone calls and emails are needed to members of the Senate Rules Committee asking that they VOTE NO on Reed Hastings re-confirmation to the Board.

Hastings was appointed to the Board in 2000 by Governor Gray Davis and has served as the Board’s president.

Hastings served on the Board of Education when then-State Superintendent Delaine Eastin submitted her “AB 537 Advisory Task Force” recommendations to school districts in the state in 2001.

You may recall that AB 537 was the work of Assemblywoman Sheila Kuehl which paved the way for schools to incorporate pro-homosexual, bisexual and transgender curriculum and teachings.

The regulations for implementation of AB 537 submitted by Eastin to the Board contained blatant advocacy of homosexuality, bisexuality and transgender curriculum and teachings while at the same time casting in an unfavorable manner religious objections to those lifestyles. They were not neutral at all. They clearly advocated sexual lifestyles under the guise of “preventing hate” and “discrimination” that many parents find questionable and objectionable.

Hasting made no objections to the Eastin AB 537 recommendations at that time and they were accepted. To this day, the State Department of Education adheres to those recommendations. We oppose Hastings for not showing leadership in objecting to these recommendations.

Further, Hastings is CEO of Netflix, an online movie rental business. Netflix’s website boasts of having over 350 DVD films and movies advocating the “Gay & Lesbian” lifestyle and political agenda. Any youth in the state can view the Netflix site and obtain these videos. Do we really want a State Board of Education member that makes a profit by pushing such materials? It is clear the Mr. Hastings has potential financial gain by advocating homosexual, bisexual and transgender lifestyles in this state.

Hastings must not be reconfirmed to the State Board of Education.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!

CALL, EMAIL & FAX Members of the Senate Rules Committee:
Politely Ask them to VOTE NO on the Reed Hastings Confirmation

Phone Fax

Sen. Don Perata, Chair (D) 916 445-6577 916 327-1997
Sen. Jim Battin, Vice Chair (R) 916 445-5581 916 327-2187

1. And the Traditional Values Coalition ...
contain blatant advocacy of religious curriculum and teachings while at the same time casting in an unfavorable manner homosexuality, bisexuality and transgender objections to those lifestyles. They are not neutral at all. They clearly advocated religious lifestyles under the guise of “preventing hate” and “discrimination” that many parents find questionable and objectionable.

Funny how that works.
