A very good Cold Case is on tonight
It has run a couple of times before but is worth watching if you haven't seen it. A guy is murdered in 1963 in a gay bashing. It is very evocative of the pre Stonewall era.

I almost always end up crying at the end of this show.
There was another Cold Case where a gay man was killed and it looked like one of the rich and prominant gay men he knew might have done it because the victim was going to go public, so the AIDS problem could get some attention. He was trying to use his family connections to raise money to fight aids. It took place at the beginning of the epidemic. It turned out that it was his own brother who killed him, because he thought the victim was going to tell their father, who had disowned the admittedly gay brother, that he was also gay. Another great show.

though I really do like this show it is on a bad night for me so I see it less often than I would like. Now I can tape it though since football is over.

4. Watched it . . .
and, I was near tears on many occasions.

It is amazing how much has changed since the 60's. A lot more work has to be done, but, the change is still amazing.

The underlying message of the show is really great - a gay guy in 1963 who didn't hate himself and demanded the respect of any other person. I wish many of the closet cases of today would hear that message.

I did love the one former drag queen - "I was going to be a cheerleader . . . when I think of it I still get vapors . . . " I've not heard anyone use the word "vapors" in a long time . . .
