In 2005, my campaign for mayor of Brockton -- our campaign -- started in living rooms, on the streets of Brockton, and in the hearts and minds of people across the country who believe government should, and can, do better.

And while my candidacy was endorsed by political leaders and media outlets, the most important endorsement came from people like you -- 454 generous donors, over 75 volunteers, and 44 percent of the voters in Brockton

But our work isn’t done.

Brockton has been stuck in neutral since the last election. Unemployment, violent crimes, bankruptcies, and frankly, cynicism about the future are on a dramatic increase. And leadership continues to be Brockton’s most pressing issue.

In February, I plan to officially announce my run for mayor of Brockton for the 2007 election. I am writing to ask for your continued support, to build on the investment you’ve made in me and in the belief that government should reflect the best of who we are.
