Movie about gay marriage, gay rights |
|
I’m looking forward to seeing that movie on A&E, “Wedding Wars.” It should be really interesting, seeing as how it deals with gay rights and gay marriage without pissing off a bunch of people.

5. Thanks! I feel like such a geek- I'm adding it to my calendar for that night! |

I wanna see this special.
Then again, I want to see the fun that's going to come along with Mary Cheney's baby. Will Rick Santorum's screams be heard all the way from Pennsylvania-- well-- should he choose to decide to go back there, and all....

2. I saw the commercials and I love this line: |
|
"Why is it okay for me to plan YOUR wedding, but not to have one of my own?"
I'm looking forward to it, too. I've loved John Stamos since his days as "Blackie" on General Hospital.

It's a comedy, but it sounds like it'll bring up some good points. Kudos to A&E for doing it in the first place.
And if it pisses of the fundies, too damn bad. Every popular media outlet that does things like these to break down the mental barriers in some people's minds helps matters in the long run. IMO.

7. I'm looking forward to it, but... |

...I'm also preparing myself for something cringe-worthy. I mean, it's a sitcom-ish TV movie on A&E starring John Stamos. That practically guarantees it'll be a big smash--but also that it's geared toward people with little or no prior sense of gay rights. It's not a movie for us. It's a movie for our parents and grandparents.
Still, if it affects hearts & minds, and it looks like it might, it's all good.

John Stamos gave a pretty good interview about it in the Advocate. Looks like a good movie.

I looked in our TV guide, and it's playing again twice. First, on Friday the 15th at 8AM Pacific, and again next Monday the 18th, 9PM. This is good, because I can't watch it this time around, as my mom is hogging the TV. :(
And I wouldn't place any bets as to whether anyone will get pissed off at it. Those anti-gay lobbyists are pretty uptight. They could find evil in a Jesus painting.
