No 'Gay Families' In Arkansas Schools
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/01/012005arkSchools.htm

Arkansas is considering following Texas in banning any mention of gay families in school books.

Legislation was introduced in the Legislature Thursday by Rep. Roy Ragland (R-Marshall) that would force the state's school districts to purchase only textbooks which define marriage as between one man and one woman.

The measure was approved by the House Education Committee despite concerns from some committee members that it could limit discussion in social studies and history classes.

1. How sad!
I couldn't live there. People that stay and fight for the Good are brave.

3. that attitude is why I left
I too admire those who stay and fight. I chose not too, instead wanting a social life. I didn't know it until I read the article but Texas did the same thing. I just hate this agenda pushing. I've thought about moving, maybe to Chicago. It would be a much better fit for me instead of Texas, Arkansas, or any other gay discriminating state.

4. Come to England
We will shortly have civil-partnerships, and the whole debate has so much less venom than that conducted by American fundies.

6. Typical Repub tactic. Keep saying it and it will be so. Just like Iraq.
The Iraqis mean to toss us flowers and candy, but they can't tell the difference between those and bombs. :eyes:
