Prominent charity gives money to ex-gay ministry

Has anyone heard of a charity called To Write Love on Her Arms?

It has a really good mission - to help teens and young adults struggling with issues like depression, drug abuse, and self-injury.

But, one of the organizations they sponsor is a group called Mercy Ministries. It's a Christian group aimed at "helping" young women with issues that they consider satanically based, such as drug abuse, mental health issues, teen pregnancy and - wait for it - lesbianism.

TWLOHA is not getting a penny from me until they stop sponsoring this group.

I also suspect that any remedy for a "satanically based" problem (let alone something that's not a problem at all... lesbianism) will do more harm than good.

7. I think they're essentially a good organization...

I mean I would really, really like to think they are just simply ignorant of what Mercy Ministries actually does.

If not.... then screw 'em.

That being said, if this got more publicity, they would probably lose a lot of support. I know a lot of LGBT folk who support TWLOHA - and they wouldn't be happy with this at all.
