I just got a recorded phone call -- on my cell phone no less -- from Senator Dennis Hollingsworth California Republican about same sex marriage.
Hollingsworth is spearheading the drive to ban same-sex marriage. His recorded phone call claimed that violent gay militants are preventing people from getting signatures on petitions that will "protect" marriage -- and he is asking the people getting the calls to request one by mail so they can make sure marriage is between one man and one woman.
Apparently, he has your address on file too, because I pressed "1" as instructed, expecting to talk to someone or at least be able to leave a recorded message where I could tell them to go fuck themselves. All it said was Thank You, a petition will be mailed to you.
Even better, I will return the envelope with some literature about why same-sex marriage is necessary or perhaps I'll send a copy of this:
