Az. Marriage Amendment Resurrected
(Phoenix, Arizona) A proposed amendment to the Arizona state Constitution that would ban same-sex marriage that appeared dead a week ago has suddenly been revived by GOP lawmakers.

Bills that constitutionally limit would limit marriage to opposite-sex couples were filed earlier this year in both the House and Senate by Republican lawmakers and appeared to have enough support for passage.

But last week, just before the House was to vote Rep. Kyrsten Sinema added a clause to the bill that would grant unmarried couples, both same and opposite-sex, many of the rights of marriage but without the name.

1. Well the ban worked well here in michigan
:sarcasm: In fact it worked so well that now when SO goes into a coma or needs an emergency surgery her 17 year old son gets to make the decision for her on what happens. The good news is that theres no longer a common marriage law so SO and I can collect full disability benefits living together.
