3 1/2 Weeks!
Gay marriage has now been legal in California for 3 1/2 weeks, and I've been using the Google and so far I haven't come across any instances of straight marriages going down the tubes, civilization declining, or the entire state breaking off and falling into the ocean. What gives?? Didn't they tell us that all these things would happen?!?! Sheesh!

In other news, a handful of NC legislators introduced the following bill last week:

http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/Sessions/2007/Bills/House/HTML/H2803v1.html

One of their "arguments" is that NC is the only Southeastern state that has not verified a "Marriage Amendment." This piece-o-crap bill even mentions California and possible lawsuits from people who get married in California! Makes my blood boil to read this nonsense!

1. If all those fires aren't the wrath of God, what's YOUR explanation?
Drought? Poor environmental policies? The nature of the State? Global warming? Lightening, carelessness and arson?

Sheesh, some people just don't get it when God smacks 'em upside the head. :sarcasm:

4. ah crap, I forgot about that!
Have any of our fundie pastor friends blamed the fires on "the gays" yet? There seems to be a strange silence coming from California! Kinda like the way that none of them ever mentions Massachusetts anymore.

2. The only thing I've heard...
is that the divorce rate is actually dropping. Of course, the media is blaming the economy but lack of money hasn't stopped people before.

3. Remember Ed Helms' report about gay marriage on the Daily Show?
http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=156320&title=mass.-hysteria&tag=generic_tag_gay_marriage&itemId=107934

I love when he's interviewing the anti-gay marriage guy: "How does legalized gay marriage affect your relationship with your wife? Is it hard to stay interested in your wife with... temptation out there? What are some other gay activities that you haven't indulged in?"

5. One of my fave "Daily Show" segments of all time!
That Camenker is truly batshit crazy! He (like all the phobes) can't name ONE specific way that gay marriage has affected any issue. What a dork.
