1. Homophobia is a real "logical disconnect"- it crosses so many lines, it makes my head hurt. |
|
Sometimes, it's just damnned tempting to go for the "all homophobes are self-hating closeted gays" theory.
Not because I really think it's that simple, but because it would be so nice to believe that such a simple answer could explain so many complex situations, y'know?
It would be nice if life was like an old Calgon ad: "Simplistic answer, take me away!"
But it's not. :(

5. Given the recent circumstances of my life, I'm quite well indeed. |

I thrive under pressure, knowhutImean?
I'm not in Durham anymore, and may never be again... but at least I have ten good "Durham years" that I'll remember fondly in my dotage.
How are you doing with your whole "move to Durham" plans? Is that still on your "to do" list?

Just today, I was in my Gallery
Raining, outside....
Playing guitar, drinking wine and smoking...
And I thought of you.
Life gets curious, sometimes.

8. Life does INDEED get curious at times, doesn't it? Curiouser and curiouser, as that Alice chick said |

I was just thinking of that post of yours (with the little statues) the other day as I was getting my tools ready for deer season. My first Deer Season in many years.
My dad (Richard Steele the Elder) had been storing several boxes of my stuff in his garage for 15 years, and he brought them by a few weeks ago.
After I finally finished rebuilding the 1895 Winchester rifle I bought back in 1992, I turned my attention to making a "hunting knife", and all I had to work with was a rusty old hand-forged blade as long as my forearm.
As I pondered the best way to cut it down and put a handle on it, I kept flashing back to that video of you with the tiny statues.
I suspect it was the color & texture of the blade that reminded me of those little staues.

Most of the deer I have bagged were with a '94 30-30, smooth-bore.
At an early age, I learned how to fling that lead.
I still carve game with knives that my Grandfather made.
Don't grind that blade too fine, keep the tang throughout.
Keep the handle fat.
It will serve you well.
Happy hunting.
Make them count.
I hope your Family eats well.
And I wish that I was there, with you.
I love to hunt with a Hunter.
And those Freepers still have "Little tiny penises".
And I nailed the sculptress.
But that is another story...

11. You really SHOULD send me a CD... |

Because I'm currently hiding out from the cult my ex-Sweetie joined, and I'm so far back in the deep woods of a deep-Red state that I can't watch YouTube links on the intermittently-functional dialup connection I have hotwired into the former root cellar I'm currently calling "my room".
On the bright side, my social schedule is a clean slate at the moment, knuwhutImean?

and i filled it out.
but it made me very angry before it was over -- 'concern trolls'? -- really?
that merits a very detailed questionaire -- and the both latent and not so latent homophobia doesn't.
