Thank you Anne Hathaway, Tony Kushner and Andrew Tobias.
Was up late last night going through the database of donors to both sides of prop 8. All have given $10,000 or more to help fight prop 8 (in spite of not living in CA -- did you hear that Rosie?)

1. Where did you find it?
Was it newsmeat.com?

2. CA Secretary of State's public records. LA Times ran a link to the database
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-metro-prop-8,0,2463893.htmlstory

You can search by name, city, zip or state. Or, if you want to see all donors, just click the search button without entering anything into the search fields. You can then sort the data by clicking on the headers of each column...

3. Thanks
Wealth of info there.

Steven Spielberg gave more than 50,000 to oppose it.

6. Spielberg and wife each gave $50,050 for total of $100,100
Dave Geffen, Spielberg's partner at Dreamworks Studios also gave $100,000

George Lucas (Star Wars) personally gave $50,000 and gave another $50,000 on behalf of his company, Lucasfilm, Ltd.

Barbara Streisand gave $25,000

T.R. Knight (Grey's Anatomy star) gave $100,000 (media reported him giving $50,000, but according to the database, his donations are up to $100,000). Knight also lists his home state as NY, so unlike Rosie, Knight isn't copping out with the excuse of "I don't live in California."

4. It Looks Like More Opposing Than....
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 05:50 AM by RetiredTrotskyite
supporting Prop 8 in Michigan. One %&*$% in Holland gave half a million to Yes on 8, but another donor gave $1,055,000 to No on 8. I was really encouraged at the portion of No to Yes. Inidana too looks as if it was more against than for. Maybe there is half a chance this time....:bounce: :toast:

5. Here's a Bit of Trivia For You:
Anne Hathaway's mother was from Philly. She used to perform in college musicals with my sister. She had her baby shower at my house. I knew Anne Hathaway before she was born!

How fucking special am I??? :bounce:

7. VERY special!!!!
I adore Anne Hathaway. Her brother is gay and she is his BIGGEST supporter. She gave an incredibly moving speech last year (or was it the year before?) at the GLAAD awards show.
