SF and LA City Attorneys, ACLU, LAMBDA, NCLR, all to file lawsuits against Prop 8

The gist of the argument is that Prop 8 itself conflicts with the equal protection clause in the state constitution.

A "revision" to the state constitution (as opposed to an amendment) would require the Assembly to pass such a change before the voters do.

1. I'll have to send a donation
if I note on the memo line that I want it to go for this would that be enough to make sure the money is used for that?

7. I could go for bankrupting the Mormon Church who has backed this thing.
Tie them up in knots and make them spend all their ill-gotten gains on attorneys. WORKS FOR ME.

19. Boo-freaking-hoo, we might screw up
their eternal marriage....baaaawwww..... and go to the telestial kingdom for the wicked...but only individuals that are in the highest degree... will eventually be enabled in eternity to become gods and goddesses and participate in the eternal creative process of having spirit children.

15. My two best friends were waiting for this to fail so they could marry.
One of them has serious health issues and needs the insurance, and now she can't get it.

11. Hugs brother. I feel the same - the day was just shot
saddened and distracted from work.

This Prop-a-hate8 just reopened all of the hateful rheotric from the silent majority on other boards and it was just shocking to hear the level of ignorance, bigotry, hate, misinformation, and malice.

13. The more attorneys the stronger the message is.
How is it we can elect a black man to be our president, yet we continue to discriminate against gays?

at taking the case high profile.

Discriminate would have been enough, but then to hear the same old sh8t stereotype, cliche's from people who were discussing the Prop and how they causally talk about gays as if we weren't really human.

16. K&R....

while I have been critical of the "No on 8" people, the organizations with the legal muscle do need our support.
