I know what you mean though, it's hard to revisit ignorance and remain silent, but it takes years, sometimes generations, for primates to update the software in their heads. I think GLBTs are about where African-Americans were in the 1950s, prone to being lynched but starting to organize effectively; thanks to the internet the cycle might be condensed, or it might be twice as long judging from that GD thread.
