any gay people who voted for Bush? I have heard that 25% of us did, yet I don't know a single one and I live in a red state.

1. Can someone tell me why any gay person would vote for him? |
|
These evil pricks have nutured the homophobic cancer in order to reap votes. Now what? Do they think this hatred will just go to sleep now that the election is over?
I almost poked my mother-in-laws eyes out over this issue and would be interested to hear a gay shrub supporter explain why he isn't pure poison to their civil rights.

I find it perplexing. He is one those "straightest gay man you'll ever meet" types, mid thirties, a business owner. I think he may have been an "army brat" - as he lived in Japan during his childhood. He describes himself as having libertarian views. He strung me along a bit during the campaign ... claiming that he was on the fence, and challenged me to sell him on Kerry. Oh how I tried. He is very bright, so my conclusion (forgive me) is that he might be lacking in empathy. After the election, I had a conversation with him about the obvious gender bias where I work ... and his response was "If you don't like it, find another job". I don't think that is an option, as I am supposed to be protected from such discrimination (I work for a corporate owned restaurant) and the mistreatment is at the hands of my very conservative manager. To suggest that I should not attempt to correct my situation, or fight, or that I should "move on" is absurd to me. That will only perpetuate the problem, and that fact that he could very easily be on the receiving end of similar treatment ... I just don't understand.

...but talking about one of those "straightest" gay men types. It is unbelievable how many I see in my line of work, just like that.
Every day when I work I see at least 10 gay people in that one day. Out of that 10 I would have to say at least 6 are the category mentioned above, 2 would be in the closet, and the other two would be well and truly out and proud.
When you think about this, whether it is a gay male or lesbian, do you think they could still be in the closet, or just trying to hide their true selves out in public? Of course either way is a curiousity to me, simply because they cannot hide their mannerisms at all. The giveaway is always either in the walk, or they way they hold themselves in public.
Recently I saw a very butch woman who was trying to hide who she was. It really didn't suit this woman to be in a dress and holding a purse with the butch walk she had. I told her as she was leaving to not hide who she was any longer. You should have seen the look she gave me. LOL
Me on the other hand, I can tell ya, as a femme lesbian, I look bloody well funny in my security uniform. LOL... Defenately a femme in drag. LOL

3. i know of a TG who did |
|
she writes often to the newspaper (and now has her own coLumn in the smaLL LocaL) about how much she Loves bush, and how great he is (i compLain about her often).
i've been cursing her for a whiLe, for being poor, bLack and femaLe and supporting this admin. 2 weeks ago i found out that she was the first ever TG eLected to pubLic office. so, i'm more stunned. her Latest crap was a Letter demonizing the "LiberaL Left" and cLosed with "i'm staying here and fighting for a traditionaL america"
why wouLd she use such code speak, when she is cLearLy Left out of that traditionaL america (on many fronts).
sorry another venting on my part, but yes, i know of one TG who voted for him.

5. My supervisor voted for Bush |
|
She said she thought it was a bad idea to change presidents in the middle of a war. I didn't want to cause trouble so I didn't say anything. I wish I had, but I didn't.

One is my coworkers boyfriend- he always votes repub and hes gay.
The other is my roommates former/current boyfriend. He is very catholic and claims hes not gay- he just lusts after men and enjoys gay sex. He has a ton of books and is trying to make himself straight... LOL. Why is it the gayest of the gay are the ones who think that if they act like "a real man" they will all of a sudden lust after a man?

i'm shocked to hear these testaments. I consider a vote for Bush as somewhat of another way to get yourself in an abusive relationship AKA "I hit you because I love you" kind of relationship. Maybe these Gay men that vote Bushy are self proclaimed abuse fetishists, "it'll only hurt for a while," hahahahahahaha.

And I live in a Blue State (CT).
Of course, I gave my speech that I can't believe they voted for Shrub and they're gay.
I don't think the speech really helped them though.

His family has instilled religion in him so deeply, and he hears nothing but RW rhetoric in the area he lives, so I don't know how he would've voted for Kerry under these conditions.

Fortunately they just barely rank as acquaintances, not friends. One is also a habitual barebacker, which tells you how bright he is. The other was just a jingoistic jerk who was a member, briefly, of my Yahoo group.
Yes, they're out there...and as a previous poster wrote, they'd still be idiots if they were straight. Just proof that GLBT people are no better than the rest of humanity.

I assume that was for Nadir.. I don't see why any gay people would want to vote for him, remember when he refered to gay rights as "gonadal politics"?
