3. That we should be grateful for crumbs from the table of the anointed.

2. Screw that. The Mormons should REALLY reach out and "pray their gay away".

4. I call Shennigans!
So NONE of that was stated prior to the passage of Prop 8?

WHY? Because people might say 'hmmm, so if LDS is for all that, what is really the big difference?'

And if the LDS reads the Florida one that passed, they'll see a ban on 'anything that resembles marriage rights' as the one's they're now supporting.

Things that make your head spin! sheesh.

5. This part confirms what we already know
Republican state Sen. John Valentine said that if the church clarified its statements regarding same-sex rights, lawmakers might be less reluctant to agree to make changes.

The Church runs Utah as a theocracy

I am trying to remain tolerant for the grand total of 2 Mormons we have on DU. I'm trying my best. I REALLY should NOT click that link.

8. how grand of them
to not "object to granting those couples certain other rights." i am ever so grateful.

NOT! i will not tolerate separate but equal. marriage for all, or marriage for none. personally, i've always thought for the separation of church and state, *all* marriages should be civil unions, and then if the couple choses to have their union blessed in a church ceremony, let them- but i have a feeling that fantasy has less chance then gay marriage.
