It’s important to understand how these people make their money. And make money they do. Each of the main promoters of this bigotry campaign may personally pocket as much as $10 million or more from the campaign.

For many this campaign had little to do with ideology or religion. It was a good way to make a buck.

I've been campaigning for "No On Prop 8" for so long. I have an aversion to Yes on 8. Sorry. I fixed the mistake.

It's widely thought that many of the "religious" "leaders" merely use the "religion" as a tool to manipulate the easily manipulated for the purposes of separating them from their money. The countless stories of LDS families giving $20,000 or more to Yes on 8 only reinforces that perception.
