The NYC protest is HUGE!
Currently walking to Columbus Circle.

Will share pictures when I get home... The ones I got to take before I dropped and broke my camera...

Pri, JohnnyBlitz, Lisa and I can't stop chanting "Tax this Church!" Anything you want us to tell them?

20. Everyone sends their love.
Just missed my train back to Jersey. Having a beer before my track gets called. What a great night! thw protest in front of the temple was so intense. There were so many people that they couldn't contain is any longer and they had to shut down the block before we started marching.

21. The other chant that could be heard over and over again
Was the one that may never get old:

"Hey, hey! Ho, ho!
Homophobia's Got to Go!"

It got really intense in front of the temple. It was only a matter of time before the police and fences couldn't contain the swelling crowd any longer.

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/newyork/ny-bc-ny--gaymarriageprotes1112nov12,0,3778315.story

NEW YORK - Several hundred protesters have gathered outside a Mormon temple in New York City to protest its endorsement of a ban on same-sex marriage in California.

Protesters lined both sides of Columbus Ave. outside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints near Lincoln Center on Wednesday evening. Mormons leaders had encouraged its members to support passage of California's Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage in the state.

Several protesters held signs asking "Did you cast a ballot or a stone?" while other signs read "Love not H8."

The rally was held several hours after Connecticut legally allowed same-sex couples the right to marry. Massachusetts is the only other state that allows gay marriage.

24. Now we're talking.
That was the type of anger expressed on many of the protest signs.

Wish you were there!

We all talked about your protests before the Prop 8 vote on Election Day and how much your support meant to us.

9. Awesome! Protests like this are very empowering.
That can be very important after the emotional blow these propositions dealt to us all.

Glad you're charged up!

I wish there was such a thing as a virtual march, like a huge march through the internets tubes. It would be massive. Or some kind of symbolic nationwide protest. What about tying purple ribbons or rainbow-colored ribbons to car antennae, on trees, on windows, or something like that? We need some kind of enduring massive silent protest that will go on until our gay friends and family are treated as full citizens.

22. Some pictures from this evening:
Outside the temple before the crowds showed:

More protesters start to show:

Organizers hand out some protest guidelines and chant suggestions:

And the crowd starts to grow:

Pri and Johnny arrive:

More protest signs before I broke my camera:

After I took these, the crowd exploded. Lisa heard from one of the organizers that there were at least 10,000 protesters. Once we started marching down from 65th to Columbus Circle, it was apparent that there were a lot more people than were expected. My only regret was that I didn't get to take any video to share.
