1. It's great to see this. Thanks. I am moved and inspired by the reaction.
You don't have to be gay to be stirred by this call for equal rights.

Just as I didn't have to be black to cheer when the Voting Rights Act became law.

This is righteousness flowing like a mighty stream. It will eventually sweep all from its path.

3. Great photos, Lioness!
You two look great! :)

I love the Obama sign.

When I figure out how to get my pics successfully out
of the camera, most likely tomorrow, I'll post em'.

If I try it now, I'll probably delete the whole bunch.

:) :hi:

5. Some from Denver

Approaching Denver City/County building at 11:30 a.m. Beautiful day.

Some of the early crowd. It petered off after 1:00 and they were still yammering. Never got to see the march.

6. We were so close to each other!
I can't believe we didn't exchange numbers the other night.

Did you post this in GD? There are a bunch of threads in there. I find it amazing that all of us were protesting together at the same time throughout the country and we can come back here and share what was happening at our local protest.

12. I can't post mine directly on DU it seems
since it doesn't like my automagic thumbnail-maker and resizer PHP script :( I tried though, mightily! Here's the link to the DU post for the Greensboro action and here's a link to my journal page with the pics. Click on any of the thumbnails for the full-sized picture.

14. Sorry about the crappy cellphone pics, but, Boston!
A couple crowd shots as we were arriving. Note the nasty weather! Didn't stop about 5,000 of us from turning out though!

Two adorable children. The little girl's sign says "Yes to Equality"

Her brother, working hard on his sign, that said "No to Discrimination", iirc. I overheard their mother say that they were originally from SLC, Utah!

And...the haters. The 'phobes got overrun by a counter-counter protest, led by some awesome teen gay boys. It drew quite a crowd. Oh, and the sign that the boy in the black shirt is holding says "I'm with the gays, not with the stupids!", with arrows pointing down at the 'phobe banner. Heehee.

The guy who seemed to be leading the 'phobe crew (all 16 of them!) kept trying to hold court with people who engaged him about his bigotry. He kept waving his wallet around...I think it was something about taxes...

I wish I had a pic of Sniffa infiltrating the 'phobe protest. He went up and stood with them, rocking his rainbow logo Obama Pride shirt. Ha!

:hi:

18. I would have taken a pic, but I was too shocked...
I was looking around for him, and then I see him, standing next to this 'phobe woman in a gawdawful blue velour outfit with a massive flag pin, and he's grinning, holding his jacket open so everyone can see his rainbow logo shirt.

20. San Jose and Mountain, View, CA
I have too many pics to post, but will post a couple of my faves...

SAN JOSE, CA: Approx. 2,000 in attendance.

This little boy's shirt says "Out for Justice"...he symbolizes why we're fighting this fight and why we won't stop until we can carry the flag of full equality - it's not just for today; it's for the generations of GLBTQIs to follow.

This guy's sign sums up the Prop 8 tragedy in just eight letters:

There were a lot of straight supporters amongst us!

"Gay, Straight, Black, White, Same Struggle, Same Fight"

A red light is not going to stop us in our march to equality, and neither will Prop 8.

Pastor Mike Ellard of the San Jose Metropolitan Community Church helped to organize the rally.

Mountain View, CA: Over 200 in attendance.

This rally was organized by the Raging Grannies!

A young supporter who understands that "hate" is not a Christian value.

"Will Your Marriage Be Next?"

While the songs of the Raging Grannies added levity to the occasion, all in attendance understood the seriousness of what is at stake:

Sorry I don't have personal pics, but I didn't realize that the protest would be a mobile one, so by the time I got to the location, everyone was already gone.
