Hate crime ends in death, Syracuse, NY

What a waste. I hope the SOB rots in prison! This also comes on the heels of a prop 8 protest!

1. Ugh
Miguel says both Cannon brothers have homosexual tendencies.

:wtf: "Homosexual tendencies"? It's not a f*cking inclination or disorder. It's an orientation.

I sense Miguel has bigot tendencies.

I hope DeLee rots in prison forever.

2. These crimes should be punished by the death penalty
We don't need hate crime legislation: just execute all murderers who kill because of bigotry.

4. That is in one of the high crime areas of the city
There are many shootings and stabbings there, usually drug or gang related. I wonder why the officer assumed the killing was due to "homosexual tendencies"? This area is very depressed, often referred to as the combat zone.

7. I saw that too. It stinks.
I suppose they blame same sex marriage for this too?

And who makes for good parenting and is a danger to "family values"? :sarcasm:

Also in the same paper.

15. Thanks to all here for helping me get my terms correct.
It's been a while, but when I first started posting on DU I was muddling things up a bit. I'm getting it simpler for the simple minded elsewhere now. Or would it be the fearful.

I really don't understand it. I was raised in a german/norwegian ancestry town in the midwest, by a german parent and a unknown heritage parent (maybe from India). Somehow my parents ended up doing right by we kids. I got the hell out of there and I don't understand why people treat each other wrongly, based on some stupid characteristic.

Fear rules a lot of emotions and people do very mean things.

20. Because Some People....
are assholes and prejudiced. It's that simple. Some people hate what they don't understand and they are not willing to be educated. Sad, relly, considering that this is the 21st century.

10. Another senseless murder.
Because of who they were.

I'm sure this is no big deal to some people...the bigots...just some gay guy who was killed.

Of course, the politicians don't give a fuck about this. It's just homophobia. No big deal to them...including the incoming Administration.

12. I am keeping track of these stories and they are far too frequent
slaughtering people for their essential being and for who they love is outrageous.

The rw will have a lot to answer for.

People get mowed down there regularly and they are mostly under 30.

22. They must think we make shit up.
They are always saying how good we got it and how we are never discriminated against and how we have ALL the same rights as straight people. Lovely. We have the right to get gunned down simply because we are gay. Aren't we so lucky? We just have it so good.
