SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police say a man was shot and killed Friday night because he was gay. Officers have arrested 20-year-old Dwight DeLee. He is facing a charge of second degree murder.

There are many shootings and stabbings there, usually drug or gang related. I wonder why the officer assumed the killing was due to "homosexual tendencies"? This area is very depressed, often referred to as the combat zone.

its pretty sad that people have to shot some one cause of tehre sexauilty and or color cant we all get along i have alot of freinds who are gay and lot of family members and they will do anything for you and have great listening ears not like my other family members

It's been a while, but when I first started posting on DU I was muddling things up a bit. I'm getting it simpler for the simple minded elsewhere now. Or would it be the fearful.

I really don't understand it. I was raised in a german/norwegian ancestry town in the midwest, by a german parent and a unknown heritage parent (maybe from India). Somehow my parents ended up doing right by we kids. I got the hell out of there and I don't understand why people treat each other wrongly, based on some stupid characteristic.

Fear rules a lot of emotions and people do very mean things.
