An apology to ColoradoMagician and any others who I upset
I know that emotions are raw over Proposition 8. I understand it completely. When it was announced that it passed my heart broke again just as it did when Wisconsin passed the amendment. I still hold out hope that the uncounted votes are enough to cause it to fail. It's my hope that this will lead to nationwide rights for all and that we may marry who we choose.

That, however, is not my reason for this apology.

ColoradoMagician: When I read your post I picked up on one phrase and nitpicked on it. That is something I should not have done and I apologize.

To everyone else who I upset or offended: I don't always explain everything as well as I'd like. A coworker once told me that I always have to be right. He was right. In this case I said something and kept arguing over something I agree with. Bigots should be held accountable. Always.

So I apologize to my extended family. I was stupid and idiotic and hope that you'll forgive me for that. I promise to try to be more mindful in the future.

3. WillBowden - Thanks for this.
I kind of enjoyed it, as having a devils advocate helps me clarify my own thinking.

The best part of this is returning to the notion and truth, that: progressives are an extended family.

There are enough outside of our family that see things radically different and we are better off united than not.

peace-
