Evidently it is less contraversial here for a seat in the cabinet be held for a Republican than for a gay or lesbian. I admit I never thought I would see the day that a group of liberals actually believed that. Simply unbelievable.

it seems that even suggesting that a gay teen should be afforded any support and respect brings out all of the Rhodes scholars who want to know, who, what, where, when, why, support your logic, blah, blah, blah... almost anything but, "Hey that's a nice idea."

5. Trust me my problem isn't with you or those like you |
|
it is with those who keep bleeting we need the most qualified people only but then are OK with a GOP token.

4. What is insulting about this kerfuffle is that so many seem to think no qualified gay people exist |
|
so therefore a gay in the cabinet would be "tokenism of the worst kind".
It shows how low we are in the hierarchy of this party that a token Republican would be more welcome in Obama's cabinet than a "token" LGBT American.

8. I remember before the primaries were even over, there was serious discussion |
|
of a Republican running mate for Obama. This was before he picked Biden. I was disgusted by that then and I'm disgusted by talk of Republicans being involved in a Democratic presidency now. It looks like after 8 years of having Bush steamroll over us, everyone here would understand that the GOP cannot be trusted to be bipartisan or nonpartisan on anything. It boggles the mind.
