"Could you sue a black dating site if they wouldn't match a white person?"
"Could you sue a Jewish site if they wouldn't match a Christian?"

All these burning questions just spoken on-air by Don Lemon of CNN, who says eharmony is being "forced to expand" and evidently it is in his craw.

What passes as "news reporting" anymore is disgraceful.

1. Anyone can sue anyone they want
If there is a dispute worth more than $20, it can be heard by a judge.

Why is this such a Burning Issue all of the sudden?

2. Lemon mistates the issue, apparently.
1.) Anyone can bring suit.

2.) Whether is goes to a Court is another matter.

3.) Regarding e-hate-money, they advertised as a site for all people, and yet, in their screening questions their selection was biased and actively exlcuded gay singles.

4.) It is illegal to discriminate on the basis of sexual orienatation in Califronia.

5.) It is NOT illegal to discriminate on the basis of sexual orienatation in every other State outside of California. So, the Don Lemmon question is disingenuous, because this could not be a nation wide problem for a similar type suit.

6.) e-hate-money conducts business from it's HQ in California.

7.) The suit was based on a California business that violated California law by providing services to every other minority group--except gays.

8.) No one forced ( not the biased langauge, "forced") e-hate-money to do anything, they settled out of Court because they did not think they could win a trial by jury of peers in California.

9.) Would there be a similar question if any other group were exlcuded by any other business?

Could a California business offer to sell sandwiches to everyone except say, black people, Jewish people or Hindu's?

I don't get the mystery here.

As far as the hypothetical: Jewish singles match service, I believe it would have to do with how they advertised themsevles and what State laws they were conducting business under.

A better analogy, I think, is could someone open a "white's only coffee shop in California?"
