4. I thought the show was good. The Yes on 8 people came across as bigoted and
the No on 8 people (including Gavin Newsome and the HRC pres) were very articulate. I especially liked the line "Since it isn't fashionable to be a bigot anymore, people are using religion to push their agenda" (not exactly, but in essence, that was what was said).

I have to give him some credit for having both sides on his show, though it was clear that there really is no common ground here.

I think it's worth a watch.

5. Black people and white people are different
So treating people differently because of their race is not discrimination?

6. I beg to differ. Black people and white people are NOT different.
That's why treating them differently is wrong.

8. They are more different than gay people and straight people
If the doctrine that "it is not discriminating to treat different things, different" holds true, and if that doctrine allows for gay people and straight people to have different rights because they are different from one another, then it must therefore follow that the doctrine allows for black people and white people to likewise have different rights.

If Dr. Phil is just a damned bigot spouting hateful nonsense, then I would agree with you. :hi:

10. I vote for the 'damned bigot' view.
People are people. There are genetic variations, but a variation is not a difference. Eye color
is not a difference, it's a variation. Skin color is not a difference, it's a variation.
Sexual preference is not a difference, it's a variation. And so on.

9. Cool
Then I guess they wouldn't mind if we started treating RRRW religious people "different", say by not allowing them to marry, adopt, have job protections, etc. We're only following their example, after all.

15. It's discrimination when rights are withheld from "different" people.
Being "different" what ever that means, does not equate to "different" laws for the majority than the minority.

I called Phil in advance, as a doucheness of banality.
