Can someone tell me what the Cancer Treatment Centers of America do?
I see their ads on cable TV all the time. I don't even know where they are -- are there any in the Pacific Northwest?

Do they know something other places don't know, or handle treatment differently?

If you have any information, please advise.

My husband tells me, "The snake oil salesman is just around the corner at your local doctor's office, and pharmacy, and the health food store.... Same stuff, different day..."

1. My wife had her chemo at one of their centers in Las Vegas.
The center was brand new and the staff was very good. She was quite happy with them. It was
difficult for her to see some of the other patients there who were in much worse shape than
she was (her breast cancer was almost undetectable it was so small. She caught it when she insisted
on a sonogram as the mammograms showed nothing).

We ended up there probably due to where our insurance allowed us to go at the time.

On the other hand, I always made a point of switching the TV in the waiting room from Faux to CNN.

2. they're just a med group that specializes in oncology. they dont do
anything other than cut, burn and poison in one or more combination, which is the standard stae of the art for cancer treatment, along with dicussion groups and all sorts of related therapies and such. just like anything else it depens on the individuals at that particular clininc and the chemistry between the patient, the family and staff. FWIW, i'm a 3X survivor of the C and i have nothing but good things to say about folks that choose oncology as a field. bless 'em. i'm gonna be outta town and web access will be scarce for a couple of weeks, but PM me if you have any questions or if i can help w/anything.
