Today I had my 5-year check up.

And I'm officially, technically CURED of lung cancer.

I'm now quietly celebrating.

your father have? I had a pneumonectomy (sp)- full lung removal.

16. I have a sister who is Pentcostal which is pretty

fundamental. Several of the churches put me on their prayer list and I do think it helped. I may not be the most religious person around or the most devout Christian, but I do believe we have a spirit within ourselves to help us overcome those things that we can't tackle on our own. Sorry if I disappointed you.

My mother died of lung cancer. It was very sad and it took her quickly - within 3 mos. of the DX. :( It was too late as the cancer had already metasticized from point of origin unknown.

I am glad you are *cured*. Keep a close check on yourself and don't trust these doctors *too* much.

Take care of yourself and I am VERY happy for you! You have beat a very viscious disease that kills quickly when it likes. :thumbsup: :D

20. Thank you. I feel I'm in good hands with this surgeon, but I

know what you mean. I was misdiagnosed by a different Dr in January of 2000 and by October the tumor had spread outside of the lung and wrapped around the vessels to the heart and the lymph nodes became involved. I was simply dismissed as being a whiner.
