More than 50 doctors will postpone either some of or all of their elective surgeries scheduled for this week. The Maryland-based group, `Save Our Doctors,` is leading the call to action in Washington and Prince George`s counties.

"The purpose of this call to action is not to deprive our patients of care, but to make it clear that long-term medical liability reform is urgently needed to insure that patients will have access to their doctors in the future," said Dr. Karl P. Riggle, a Washington County surgeon who is postponing his surgeries.

"For the past days the Nation has been in the grip of a railroal strike which threatens to paralyze all our industrial, agricultural, commercial and social life..The disaster will spare no one. Strikes must against the government most stop. The Congress and the President must work together and we must work fast."...

If Harry Truman can draft the rail workers why isn't Bush drafting these fucking Doctors?

2. They make me sick
What they NEED to do is police their own ranks better in order to remove incompetents. Then their malpractices rates would go down.

Now that's the inside scoop from a RN with 15 years of practice experience!

3. Those 50 doctors are most likely
plastic surgeons and inept OB-GYN's. REAL doctors want peer and independant review boards to evaluate medical professionals. 2-3 % of doctors have over 60% of malpractice suits - and no, they are not all OB-GYN's....They are just INEPT! But all doctors have to pay for their negligence w/ higher premiums.

There are bad policemen, bad accountants, bad chemists.... same w/doctors.
