Vegan B12 is Hydroxylcobalamin Nonvegetarian B12 is Cyanocobalamin

That hydroxylcobalamin is more efficient is indicated by its creation
of more blood cells per cubic centimeter. Vegan blood is more purplish
in color, according to several Red Cross nurses.

The dairy lobby's propaganda is found in nutrition courses
after they give huge grants to the school.

3. Cyanocobalamin is a synthetic member of the B12
family that is commonly used because it is so air stable and can be kept in supplements for long periods of time. All of these family members are interconvertable and work well. Because it's a co-factor you don't need much of it and any extra will simply be peed out.

There is no need to partake of animal B12 as long as you are careful to take enough of one of the non-animal forms of B12. This is nowhere near as difficult as it was even a couple of decades ago as there are now several sources including the synthetic one above.

Interestingly hydroxycobalamin, a natural member of the family, can now be used to treat low grade cyanide poisoning as it binds the cyanide in the system and converts to cyanocobalamin.

Wikipedia actually has a pretty good account of the B12 family.

4. hydroxycobalamin is cobalamin with an -oh group. it binds with cyano-groups
(e.g. cyanide) & forms cyanocobalamin.

if you put cyanocobalamin in water, it dissociates into hydroxycobalamin.

cyanocobalamin (b12) can be synthetic (man-made) or "natural" (anytime cobalamin binds with cyano-groups).

So can hydroxycobalamin (b12a).

Neither is in the form(s) used in the body - methylcobalamin & some others.

why do you say hydroxycobalamin is "non-animal"?
