Got my flu shot, my shoulder is slightly sore. How do I report this adverse reaction to VAERS? |
|
Only kidding, my EMS division gave over 500 doses of the Flu vaccine in October to the Police and Fire Departments without a single adverse reaction reported. We have had a very good turnout about 40% higher than last years numbers. That is surprising since many of them asked if they were going to work better than last year.

I am on week 2 of the flu and this strain is one of the worst I have ever had. I have been sick as a dog.

4. I got mine yesterday and it hurt sleeping on it last night. I think I'll sue! |
|
:sarcasm: I'm glad I got it before the last minute, have gotten them every yr for the last 20 (first as a health care provider, now as a middle aged health care provider). I do know 1 person personally here who had a reaction (what was it, 4 yrs ago? when that bad batch came out) who is still recovering neurologically. I also knew a 21 yr old second cousin who died from pneumonia after the flu a few yrs back.

7. Yes, that is it. Damned if I can remember things anymore. |
|
After a couple close concussions I can remember 3 things at a time, not 4, and I think this falls into the 4 thing (syllables?), it's odd. Retrieval is an issue, but recognition works. If that makes sense.
At any rate, he thought he'd had a stroke, thinking late 30's. Finally they narrowed it down to GBS (hey, only 3!) and is still working on getting better but had to change jobs since couldn't do health care in field was in.

number of people have twitchy immune systems that react to any immunizations with 24 -48 hours of fever, chills, fatigue, muscle soreness, etc. It used to happen to my grandmother and it happens to my mom now. Let me tell you, having survived the Great Influenza and having seen so many of her friends die, my grandmother never missed a flu shot. Two days of a mild sickness were a fair trade-off against the threat of a real case of influenza in her mind.
There are a lot of colds and other minor illnesses out there that make people think they've had the flu. Believe me, until you've lived for a year or more with the aftereffects, you have no real understanding of how bad this disease can be!
