To alleviate pain, Gomez turns to acupuncture
http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey/ny-sprnotes205934714nov20,0,7109035.story

Remember The Searchers' hit "Needles and Pins"?

Scott Gomez might be humming that oldie if his visit to a Westchester acupuncturist helps put him back on the scoring charts.

"It's as good as he's felt all along," Rangers coach Tom Renney said of Gomez, who missed his fourth consecutive game last night with what is either a deep ankle bruise or a high ankle sprain. "He had some good treatment ," Renney said, and the center might go for a light skate today.

Nonetheless, Gomez likely won't dress for the matinee in Ottawa Saturday. Said Renney: "I would have a hard time seeing that, but you never know." The team's next home game is Monday against the Coyotes.

3. I wonder if Gomez received acupuncture in addition to convention physical therapy

And, if so, which do you suppose will get the credit for his recovery?

Little known fact: 2,000 years ago, Chinese healers were using modern acupuncture to treat injured ice hockey players.

5. That's a common misconception
Actually, snowboarding skills were very useful when fleeing from rampaging yetis. And let's be honest--when are they not rampaging?

6. Great point.
Perhaps they need reiki to get their chakras back in alignment. Or was it the MMR vaccine that made them mad?

7. Well, if it's reiki, then that's good news
I mean, I'll be able to realign them from here.

After I take the two-week course to become a Reiki Master, of course.
