dear du, lend me your wit. |
|
(i posted this in the lounge, but i think it was a little too politicky for them. )
my local dems are working on a healthcare informational forum, followed about a month later by a demonstration. we are at square 1, and need a title, a snappy subject line for our email announcement, and signs for the protest. aside from 'an incisive look at the healthcare debate' i got nuthin'.
please help. tia
(also this q&a from downthread)
What is your position on health care?
it's not about my position. it is about getting all the facts to the people, and
figuring out where they want to go with it. we start with the folks in our ward, but we do want to get many groups from around the city to join us, and at that point the idea is to make our voices heard. i think that many of the folks will continue to fight for single payer, even though they know they will not get it. without that pressure from the left, what is there to negotiate?
so, first is an informational forum, then a demonstration. we really need some smart writing. i think i will come up with stuff eventually. i am still waiting for the details, anyway.
and i thank all those that have replied, and all those that will. i know very well how hard this type of writing is. i never really imagined before i started making buttons how hard it was to squeeze a big topic into a little button. it's like writing haiku or something. funny haiku at that. hurts my head sometimes just thinking about it.

1. I don't have a title, but some ideas. |
|
I have been trying to come up with a title/label for the healthcare debate, as well. I have been thinking along the lines of--We have successful Medicare, VA-care and Senator-care. We need CitizenCare or AmericaCare. Something along that train of thought. If we can, in a title, tie what we think is a right for every citizen to the few who enjoy that right, we can get to more people.

5. it seems quite immune to the catch phrase. |

after all this time being debated, there still does not seem to be anything tight. i have been struggling for a button on this, and so far i am completely defeated.

2. How about The facts of the health care debate... |
|
Is that what you were looking for? Or something catchy like Doctors without strings. I am not all that good with this but I am sure there will be some who are that will help.
