The Democratic party just sent me an email asking for donations...
This is what I wrote back:

Mitch... I will start donating again when I see a single payer, Universal system in the bill. If you look at sites like Democratic underground, you will see that democrats, and others, are hopping mad that real health care reform is being derailed by Bluedogs, Insurance companies, and the GOP. Mandatory health coverage is absured, and so is the co-op proposal. That would simply put the "public option" in the pockets of the insurance companies and force the 50 million into the hands of a corrupt bunch of corporations that would send their profits soaring, and give us more of the same. So until there is a single payer option on the table, the Democratic party risks a resounding defeat from their own. I am sorry to say, that, but I have seen some pretty dissillusioned people out there who feel betrayed that true democrats are bending to pressure.70% of the country wants it, please pass the word in the party, and get a single payer back on the table... please! SL

6. hysterical!!!!! as always! love that, I'll remember the line.
yeah, they're trying to shove the public option down our throat as a, "see! we got you this!", sorta like when you ask your parents for a GI JOE figure & jeep when you're 11, and instead of a Joe figure they get you a really shoddy made Chinese knockoff called Corporal Bo that looks like there's no definition in his face, and his arms fall off easily and he comes with a bicycle for no apparent reason...

That's what I'm concerned the public option is going to end up being unless super strict restrictions are put in place. I still think our party is wavering too much on bending to GOP demands of no Single-Payer... jerks.

2. You should send
Mitch a link to your post so he can see first hand. Also Why our esteemed congresscritters will not just stand up to the corporations. Really what are they going to do, stop bribing them. If the majority did this they would have no one to bribe or at least the only ones to bribe will not make a difference. I don't think this would stop them from trying again when some legislation is in the works. Really they won't go away, they just won't get their way all the time.

3. Can any one explain why only 20% of the Country is able to
make the other 75% bend to their will.

Conservatives only make up 20 25% of electorate.
Only a small percentage of those subscribe to to rabid
RW beliefs of Limbaugh Hannity Beck.

I cannot resolve this in my own mind.

Is it because these are most intense and demanding and
therefore bully others??

If the answer is yes, then Liberals Progressives, start
your engines--let the Intensity loose from our side.
Maybe all this playing nice is not a winning tactic.

9. RE: Democrats Asking For Money
I couldn't agree with you more!

Awhile ago, columnest Mark Shields and commentator on "The News Hour With Jim Lehrer" referred to certain house and senate democrats as bed wetters. Alas, the unfortunate truth. It's up to us to give them spine replacements and make Obama be true to his campaign promises.

Rather than donate to the Dems... it's time to march on Washington in September. I noticed folks citing www.1payer.net. They don't seem interested in rallying anything but phone calls to the White House.

***** Single payer
***** Limit fee for service practices
***** Canadian drugs

I have dial up internet. Not finding much on Google for who might be march-minded. Anyone know of something?

10. My response to DSSC donation requests
I too have received a number of email solicitations asking for donations to the DSSC to help fund to 2010 races. To each one I have responded that until I see a health care reform bill signed into law that includes at minimum a meaningful and affordable public option, I will not contribute a penny.

I go on to talk about Democrats acting as Republicans, how Democrats need to support their President, etc. I deliver the message that if this fails, I will be a Democrat no longer.

12. Mitch,
Why are you asking me for money? Don't the insurance companies pay you enough? Time to ask for a raise, especially since they'll be making sooo much more money with mandated coverage.

Don't you see how the downtrodden people of Canada live under their free and easy access to healthcare? :)

As it is clear that Dems are merely the other side of the same coin.
