Reality is that as long as illegals are here but not officially here they will get free ER care under any healthcare reform plan. How could it be any other way?

If a guy robs a bank, he is a criminal. We don't abolish all banks because someone broke the law.

If you Jaywalk, you are committing a violation of the vehicle code. We don't get rid of all streets because somebody might commit a crime to use that street.

This is a red herring to keep the racist Republican Base up in arms and angry so they can drive them to the polls next year like sheep to a slaughter. You can not stop people from breaking the law, only arrest, try, and punish them if they are convicted. We don't refuse health-care to American Citizens and legal residents because an illegal alien might violate the law and use a stolen ID to get medical care.

6. Still, I wouldn't mind prohibiting illegals from using the public option insurance.

Even though the public option is not going to be subsidized ant it's supposed to be self sustaining and funded by the premiums it receives, I would have no problem in restricting the public option to US citizens and legal permanent residents only.

The question, is whether the right wants something in a bill that orders hospitals to withold treatment from people whose identities can not be immediatly determined, in order to allow illegal aliens or just someone without a wallet, to die.
