Every month I have to struggle to pay our insurance bill. |

We have to fight them every time we use it to pay the bill. We met our deductible back in Febuary and they now say we are a penny short so they will not pay a $400 bill we got for "physician assistance".
It has something to do with an outpatient program my wife went through after she got sick and had to be hospitalized. Long story.. but it should be covered even though we do not know exactly what its for. we have already spent 12k out of pocket.
No one can tell us exactly what the bill is for ...they just have dates of service. My wife has been getting the "run around" with both the hospital and Connecticare. Hospital says only Connecticare knows what the bill is for and vice versa. They now say we are one penny short .. we keep asking them how we pay the one penny even though we already met our deductible. They say we have to pay the full bill.
Connecticare keeps changing the story ... They are now saying we were out of network although we are not. Wife has been on the phone for two days and been down to the Hospital trying to find out whats going on. They tried this before until we proved the hospital was in network... as if they did not know.
It's a POS plan.. they make a huge profit from us .. we have paid in much more then we have used it.
Many times I wonder if I should just cancel it and put the money in the bank. We are deep in debt and sinking fast.
If they make it mandatory I will not have that option anymore. Please do not take away my option to decline it if we do not have the money to pay for it.

If you qualify, you may make your money back in a year's time.

4. Not enough money - deep in debt ..will take years to pay off. |

We run to very small companies and cannot sell house in this market. No money for a badly needed roof. CC cards almost maxed out. I am thankful we have a house ..its really all we got despite the 2k mortgage we paid the 20% down to avoid PMI. Now its worth less then that.

6. Thx but its alright .. I really cannot complain when others are in even worse shape. |

We eat ok..have a roof (although its needs to be replaced) ..still able to pay bills. We are lucky.
My main point was making ins mandatory takes the option of risking it away. And we have to fight them on almost every bill when its hardly used.

We are seriously considering joining you "up there." Have been for several years, but it's looking more likely now.
