1. I don't think that's true.
My understanding is that the public option, as currently proposed, would be available to people who couldn't get insurance from another source (e.g., you lost your job and can't afford individual coverage). I think that if you then got a job with coverage, you could take the employer-provided coverage and drop the PO coverage.

You could indeed if on the public option, later choose to use a private insurer.

I also think the public option is available as a back up if you lose your insurance for any reason.

6. False. You CAN go private. The confusion comes from misrepresentations about Section 102.
The private insurance you can enroll in must be 3200 compliant. Grandfathered shitty plans will not be allowed to admit new insureds.
