1. I didn't experience PPD as a new dad, but I recognize the stressors for sure
There's really nothing that truly prepares a dad in our society for how radically your life can change, but it's getting better with more books aimed at new dads. I was fortunate enough to have a partner that kept on me to read up on pregnancy and life with a child, and I was able to prepare myself somewhat for the new focus of my life. A lot of the things I really enjoy doing have become once-in-a-while treats, such as going to the movies and birdwatching every weekend. But it's all worth it.

I highly recommend the book "Be Prepared" for all men who are going to be fathers for the first time. It made my life a lot easier. Not easy - but easier.

Although this is a serious topic, I can't help but make the remark that while I avoided post-partum depression, I did participate in the pregnancy weight gain with my wife!
