1. DHEA is a hormone. Taking that can disrupt hormonal balance.

3. DHEA can be very dangerous and cause irregular heart rhythms.
I wouldn't touch it at any dose unless MD recommended.

4. If she has been vomiting, has lost serious weight very quickly,
and as you say is a long-term diabetic, I would be worried if her doctor didn't at least do some blood work on you. Some herbs can be toxic to the liver/kidneys and she is more at risk because of the chronic stress to her liver/kidneys from diabetes.

If it is as you describe, I hope she sees another doctor very soon.

6. Yeah, you may have to haul her in to the ER after she passes out and
take her meds, including the Relacore, with you. Alot of people forget to tell their doctor about herbals they use.

7. I recognize two of the herbs
Passionflower is very mild. I've had it in a tea and I thought it had a sedative or antidepressant effects. I don't know what it's doing in a diet pill.
Panax ginseng is chinese ginseng and can be quite energizing. It can be overdone and cause heart palpitations.
As someone noted above, DHEA is a hormone. It is dangerous to take without medical supervision.
I don't recognize the other herbs.

8. from the ingredients, it seems to help balance cortisol levels
high cortisol (a hormone secreted during times of stress) can cause the body to store fat, usually around the middle. Passionflower and magnolia bark can help with that, the DHEA should not be taken by anyone who hasn't first had their DHEA levels tested.

Your friend should definitely consult her practitioner before starting a diet since she's diabetic, though.

9. it is not logical to ignore the cause of the stress.. fat is fat.. lack of
proper diet and exersize... i doubt there is actually much directly caused by cortisol, 'high' is a relative description.. 3 ppb is High compared to 1 ppb but relatively insignificant whether
it is 1 or 3.

this is just spin, dont believe anything you hear about fad diets

i lost 35 pounds i 2 months when i started meditating, not due to stress, just because i began to recognize that i wasn't really hungry.. i was just grasping.. 'thinking'..

11. yes, one should deal with the cause of stress
such as meditation, excercise, etc. However, there are natural remedies that can help the body, such as ginseng, holy basil, or magnolia bark. Consistently high cortisol levels can also increase other health issues as well.

Higher cortisol levels are associated with increased appetite, thus increased fat, usually around the belly area.

15. Well, it's well-known that coffee
prevents Parkinson's Disease, type 2 diabetes (but you need more then 7 cups/day), raises test scores, and makes you a less accident-prone driver. The ciggies, now......
