New Report Debunks Link Between Vaccines, Autism
(Sept. 13) -- The mercury-based preservative that was a mainstay ingredient in several key vaccines does not contribute to the development of autism among children, according to a report released today.

A government-funded study on thimerosal is the latest in a series of research efforts to debunk the idea that childhood vaccinations caused autism.
------
Researchers with the CDC tracked more than 1,000 children, born between 1994 and 1999. Of the study participants, 256 had been diagnosed with autism.

After reviewing immunization records of children and their mothers, the team compiled thimerosal exposure levels for each child, and concluded that there was absolutely no connection between vaccinations -- whether prenatally or after birth -- and the development of autism.

OK, guys, this one covered maternal immunizations, too. Time to move the goalposts again.

1. It's a government-funded study, and you know how those are.
They are bunk unless they support you, and then only idiots would reject the science.

about Hannah Poling's award of $1.5 million now and $500,000 a year for life.

She's the girl whose underlying (but unexpressed) mitochondrial disorder in combination with 9 vaccines in a day led to seizures and the development of autism syndrome. According to the Vaccine Court.

I don't understand why people are still pushing info about thimerosol now. It's not in the infant vaccines and no one intends to put it back in -- do they?

14. People are still pushing info about thimerosal because there are still willfully ignorant morons.
Money will continue to be wasted investigating an already debunked link between thimerosal and autism as long as vocal idiots keep claiming that such a link exists.

By the way, no one started claiming that Hannah Poling had autism until after the vaccine court ruling. The Polings argued that vaccination aggravated a mitochondrial disorder, leading to "encephalopathy with features consistent with autism." No one contested it and after the ruling, anti-vax loons started calling it autism and old pa Poling started saying that Hannah was "perfectly healthy" and had no pre-existing health issues before vaccines gave her teh autism.

It's a bit odd to go from arguing (with full medical support) that vaccination aggravated an existing condition, leading to an encephalopathy similar to autism, to claiming (after the ruling came down) that vaccination led directly to autism with no steps in between. Almost like someone wanted to make sure there would be a favorable ruling before crying "autism."

They put formaldehyde in.

So if one thing that might make a child sick is left out, but its repalcement is considered equally culpable, and the study compares the kids having vaccines with thimerosal to kids having vaccines with formaldehyde, you won't find much discrepancy.

A poison in a kid's system is a poison in the kid's system.

And despite having read about this research from several sources, I still do not know WHO did the research.

18. I think you may be confusing things.
Thimerosal was used as a preservative, formaldehyde is used as an inactivating agent. There's no reason why one would replace the other.

Plus, the amount of formaldehyde in vaccines is a trace amount left over from the manufacturing process and is far less than the amounts naturally produced and found in the body. (http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/112/6/1394">link)

Here's something else you may want to consider: the dose makes the poison.

Have they been exonerated as a cause of autism?
