New - unsettling - theory on BSE origins (They fed humans to the cattle!)

In a report in the British medical journal, The Lancet, Professor Alan Colchester of the University of Kent in England says BSE (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) may have been caused by the tonnes of animal bones and other tissue imported in the '60s and '70s from India for animal feed which also may have contained the remains of humans infected with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD).

And outlandish on it's face. But, it seems plausible.

2. I respect lancet and the CBC, but

even if true, they should have NEVER fed animal bones or anything else to cows, they are NOT meat eaters. In addition, in the UK they were also making feed from dead and sick cattle that were fed to cattle

I wonder if they are trying to blame someone else for their screw up

Either way, plausable or NOT, they should have NOT made the feed from animal protein
