An apology to those on the Science Forum

Dear folks,
In a recent thread I made a posting in the "Moon Mission" thread. In my posting I used the term "trekkies" rather loosely and with lack of thought. This term seemed to offend a number of fellow DU members. In hindsight the term is a poor generalization. I have been a active member of DU for a number of years and have never sought deliberately offend others but on occasion certain things I have tried to say in posts has not come out quite right. Rather, I have been known to put my foot in my mouth once in a while. My apologies for those that took offense. Sorry folks, I am bound to blunder occasionally.

who enjoys Star Trek, and the speculation thereon...but is fully aware it's a fictional TV show.

A Trekkie is someone who wears Klingon disguises to Star Trek conventions.
