I am seeking a quality chemistry set for an 11 year old girl.
My friend's daughter is very smart and has quite a mind for science. Ever since she was a toddler, I have given her gifts that would spark her curiosity about the natural world. My last gift to her was a microscope which she loves. For her birthday, I would like to give her a chemistry set, but I am not sure what set would be age appropriate and of good quality. Any suggestions? Thanks!

3. Thames & Kosmos make very good chemistry sets
I purchased one for my 9yo for Christmas and he loves it. I got him the C1000 set but they also have 2000 and 3000 sets. Here's a link to their product's page: http://www.thamesandkosmos.com/products/main.html

9. Thank you so much.
I was hoping to hear from some folks who had "kid tested and approved" sets. Since I have no children of my own, I'm flying blind here. :hi:

I think the C1000 would be perfect for her. Wow. Thanks! Geez, this looks like so much fun that I want one for myself. :D

5. Try googling "discovery toys"...
one site appears to be actually allied with the discovery channel and has a large array of science based childrens gifts and age recommendations...good luck

14. She's a great kid. She loves the
archaeology "excavation" kits, too. It is so much fun to watch kids discover new things. Since she received her microscope, she has expressed an interest in chemistry, so it seemed like a natural progression.

I think I'll get her the Archaeology for Kids magazine "Dig" next Christmas. :hi:

From the microscope to the telescope, the little world to the big universe. What a lucky girl. :hi:

of science sets for young people. Some of them seem very good.
