Scientists prepare for crash-landing on comet
Scientists prepare for crash-landing on comet

Crash landing, hell, we're gonna blow something up. Just in time for the 4th of July! Ooh! Ahhh!

snip

"The Deep Impact mission’s 269-million-mile one-way journey will begin in Florida when a spacecraft is launched on Wednesday.

Six months later the craft will send a copper-fortified projectile the size of a washing machine on a collision course with the 3.7-mile-wide comet Tempel 1.

As it heads to its destruction, the probe will capture images of the comet to be relayed back to Earth by the mothership. The impact is expected to blast open a crater large enough to swallow the Colosseum in Rome."

Is this Preparation A for a future asteroid?

1. Preparation A?
I think the comet may need some Preparation H after getting its ass blown open like that.
