Neanderthal yields nuclear DNA (BBC)
The first sequences of nuclear DNA to be taken from a Neanderthal have been reported at a US science meeting.

Geneticist Svante Paabo and his team say they isolated the long segments of genetic material from a 45,000-year-old Neanderthal fossil from Croatia.

The work should reveal how closely related the Neanderthal species was to modern humans, Homo sapiens.

Details were presented at a conference at New York's Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and reported by News@Nature.

Perhaps this research will lead to insight into "the base".

1. Nah, there's a lot of evidence that supports...
...the fact that Neanderthals were every bit as intelligent as humans, with well developed social systems and complex beliefs. They would therefore be unlikely to offer any insights into the Republican mentality.

2. Was that nuclear material from Iran? Sanctions!
Can he prove that he did not acquire that nuclear material from Iran? Bomb now, before the nuclear DNA is reconstituted!

Can he prove he doesn't threatening Israel with Clovis Point-weapons?

7. They got genetic material from a Republican?
Just kidding. I expect Neanderthals would be smarter than that.

8. That is pretty exciting stuff. Thanks.
As Neaderthals were human, it is probably not a good idea to demean them by suggesting indirectly that they are related to Republicans.

I have heard that once someone tried to sequence Dick Cheney's genome but were stymied by the fact that apparently antifreeze, like Iraq, contains no nuclear material.
