The Today Show on UFOs, shameless
So the Phoenix UFO sightings turn out to be a simple hoax (flares attached to balloons). It's not enough for the Today Show to simply report that the big mystery was hardly a story in the first place. No, they have to drudge up a silly new story about two Private Eyes looking into some UFO photos. Photos, that are so obviously fakes that they needn't bother. But, never let facts get in the way of a good fantasy.

3. There are too many
UFO believers on GD. I figure the folks here on Science are a bit more rational. I'm tired of explaining the difference between the possibility life elsewhere in the Universe and alien visitation in flying saucers.

4. You really can't prove aliens aren't visiting in flying saucers.

5. I think that joke is getting too old.
It's getting a bit like someone posting every time "but that can't be true, the earth is 6000 years old".

Or maybe I'm just tired today. Who can tell?

6. Are you sure its a joke?
I'm not.
Not like this would be the first time someone posted something in the science forum that had no scientific evidence to back it up....:eyes:
(if it is a joke, I'm sorry, but there seems to be more woo here of late)

9. Ah, well, I hope it's a joke. Someone would have to be pretty freaking stupid
to seriously consider the idea that not bieng able to disprove something means anything at all.

10. Haven't read GD or Health lately have you?
If you can't disprove it, it must be true!:eyes:

7. You also can't prove monkeys won't fly out of our butts in the next ten seconds.

But the probabilities argue against it.

13. Those UFO photos
... were part of a viral marketing campaign for Halo 3. Those pics are old news now.

makes The Today Show more than shameless, that's pathetic.
And we expect decent political coverage from these yahoos in the MSM! No wonder McCain is still even in the polls.

15. I wish some UFO enthusiast
would explain to this non-believer why ETs need lights on their vehicles. The lights apparently don't illuminate anything on the ground...and lights certainly don't make the notoriously shy ETs' vehicles unnoticeable to earthlings. So, what good are the lights that are always associated with reports of nighttime sightings? ETs possess the technology to navigate vast distances through space - and yet they need lights? For what?

16. Just a thought ...
... they've probably got megawatt boom-boxes going in the back
of the vehicle too as they cruise up and down the "street" ...

Alien chavs ... what next?
