I loved the one where the student drew the handman under the radical.

9. Ran into something similar grading exams a couple years back |
|
The student was obviously really stressed out and kind of had a meltdown mid-exam. Nothing visible while writing it, but her handwriting got more and more frantic until she basically rambled a temper tantrum on the page about how three hours isn't enough time for a final exam that involves one(1) essay question and a bunch of multiple choice. Yeeeah.
(The real sad thing is, going by her answer pre-implosion, she was cruising for about a B+.)

This attitude of finding ignorance funny and knowledge "elitist" is a major part of this country's problem, as discussed _here._
When smartassed "answers" on science and math tests evoke laughter instead of shame, we're in a world of trouble. And we wonder why we're losing ground to other nations?
It's well past time we grew the hell up and joined the rest of the grownups in the world.

6. Some things are just not funny... |
|
...and the profound, anti-intellectual, willful and proud ignorance of many Americans is one of those things.
Innocently wrong answers from young children are very often cute and funny. Smart-ass, bullshit non-answers from older students reflect an attitude that is neither.
Look around and ask yourself how we got into the fucked-up mess we're in today, and then tell me that's not something to be serious about.

The link in the OP appears to contain copies of actual tests, though.

10. I'm as opposed to wilful ignorance as anyone, but I've also been a student |
|
who stressed out over a test and couldn't answer questions that I actually knew the answers to.
As for smart-ass answers, I notice that many of these are from pretty advanced courses, like mechanical engineering or calculus. If the students have gotten that far, they're above average.
My experience as a former professor tells me that there's going to be at least one idiot in every class. As long as the number of idiots per class is manageable, I can live with it.

11. A very healthy outlook. |

This merely confirms what I've known for many years -- that good teachers are a special breed, with temperament and patience that I have always lacked.
My hat's off to you!

I didn't recognize any as cartoons.
Then again, I didn't examine them that closely. :)
